THE PERFECT AGE FOR A NEWBORN SESSIONThe perfect age for a newborn sessions is... well, you can't pin point it.
However, I can advise from personal experience to get the squishy tiny newborn portraits that the best age is between 5 and 14 days although this doesn't mean you won't get the curled up squishy photographs after the 14 days, you absolutely can.... with a bit of patience. ALL babies are different and I have had babies who have been 7 days old be really unsettled, or hate being curled up and on the other hand I have had babies be around 6-8 weeks old, slept like a dream and curled right up! If you haven't already and are looking for a newborn photographer, you can book in via the button below. Please select your due date (or nearest to it that is available)

We had a newborn photoshoot in January 2023 and Samantha was amazing. So friendly and made us feel comfortable in her studio. She explained everything thoroughly and was very patient and calm, taking her time to make sure our baby was settled and content throughout the whole shoot. The photos were incredible, I even cried 3 times at some of the shots she was getting! Samantha was also extremely quick at getting the proof pictures over to us and super quick getting the final edits back to us. I would 100% recommend Samantha to anyone wanting a relaxed but professional newborn shoot! Thanks again ☺️ xxxx January started off with lots of newborns and although I can't share all of them, I thought today was a good idea to post a little insight into this gorgeous little mans newborn photography session here at my studio " Samantha Jade Photography " Just over a week ago he visited with his lovely mummy and daddy for a newborn portrait session and boy he did good. This little mans parents had booked months in advance a provisional date but due to little man arriving a little early, we kept that date for his session. Mummy and Daddy wanted the session to be filled with whites, creams, you know, my favourite neutral tones <3
On Friday 16th April little Freddie visited the studio for his 1st birthday cake smash and splash photo-shoot! Prior to the shoot, Freddie's Mum had mentioned in the pre cake smash questionnaire that Freddie was a little shy... I think you will see from the photographs you are about to see that Freddie... was not shy. Freddie had LOTS OF FUN! I always start my birthday sessions with a mini portrait shoot, which also include a few props for little one to play about with and on. Usually, for a shy child, the little moon stool works great for the curious mind... The mini photo-shoot can include siblings and parents at an additional cost, however there is no extra charge with the top birthday package for this. These mini sessions last about 10-15 minutes, a great way for me to quickly learn how your baby reacts to me, and for me to get to know them quickly! Freddie didn't eat much of his cake, and that's ok, because this cake is for playing with and that's exactly what Freddie did! It's all about capturing their experience with something that is meant to be their first experience of something sweet and sugary. Thinking about booking a cake smash and splash? Message me here
This handsome little chap visited the studio on the 4th July for his 1st birthday Cake Smash and Splash session. Everything blue for this little guy which totally complimented those big blue eyes of his and blonde curly / wavy hair and his beautiful little smile. .You may of seen the prop chair in my studio or on other photographs previously. During lockdown I gave it a little make over and painted it white with some Frenchic from The Beverley Flower Company Occasionally, we do have a few little melt downs... But it's ok, it's hard work turning ONE. We get back up and on with it... and make a BIG splash in the tub! It was such a pleasure having this little guy in the studio and I hope he has a fantastic birthday. I am back and although nervous, extremely excited to be back in the studio after the COVID19 lockdown! All precautions in place and ready to rock n roll again. Todays session was... a CAKE SMASH! For those of you who know me, or have read other posts, know I love a cake smash. One of my goals (providing I have parents consent for sharing images) is to keep my blog alive and share share share my work for you all to see. |
