To make sure I can fit you in during those precious early weeks, please book your newborn session around your due date (or as close to it as possible). When you complete your booking, pop your due date in the questionnaire so I can pencil you in.
Once your little one arrives, just let me know as soon as you can, and we’ll confirm your official session date. This helps me make sure your baby’s shoot takes place at the perfect time — usually within the first couple of weeks when they’re still tiny and sleepy.

I'm Samantha Jade, and I am a professional newborn photographer based in Hull, East Yorkshire. First of all I would like to congratulate you on your pregnancy. Welcoming a new baby into the the world is a precious yet life changing experience and I am here to document this by capturing this moment with a newborn photography session based in my warm and cosy home studio, where I will create photographs you will treasure for many years to come. All my pricing is up front, with no hidden costs and no hard sales. Your experience with me is a personal one and I want not only your baby, but for you to feel comfortable too.

However, if you ask me why you should book me I would tell you that working with newborns, and babies is one of the most rewarding (apart from the birth of my own children) things to do and I don't see it as a job, its my passion and I love being able to create photographs that will make you 'awh' over and over again when looking at them. With over 15 years experience in photography and over 10 years experience working with newborns and hours and hours spent on training and workshops I think it's fair to say that your experience with me with your baby will be a fantastic one. My studio is a warm, clean and cosy environment, safety is my number one priority and will never be compromised to get ' the image '. My sessions are baby led and if your little one doesn't want to be moved a certain way, then that is absolutely fine.

When to book?
It's very rare a newborn will arrive on their due date, which is why I only use their due dates as provisional booking dates only. It's never to early too book, but I would highly recommend booking in advance, but no earlier than your 20 week scan. I take limited numbers per month so that I always have space for those early babies, and the late babies. However, if you have left booking in last minute, do message me in case I have any last minute availability. By booking in advance means if your baby arrives early or late your baby has priority and is guaranteed a spot in the diary.

When do bring your newborn to the studio?
As soon as your baby is born, all you need to do is message me to let me know and then I will arrange a date and time for you to come to the studio. I usually start my newborn sessions at 10am as I find this is a good time that babies are most settled and relaxed. Later times can be done depending on availability that day. I like to schedule you in between 1 week and 4 weeks, however I find that between 5 and 14 days after the birth of your baby is usually best although I know this may not also go to plan due to complications, I sometimes actually do newborn styled sessions upto 3 months (thanks to lockdown babies 2020/2021!)

As stated on the packages, newborn sessions can last up to 3 hours. This doesn't mean you will be in the studio for 3 hours, it all just depends on your newborn baby. 3 hours gives me time to settle, feed, wind and change baby and even get siblings to play ball on family portraits. Some sessions can be done in just under 2 hours.
During the booking process you will receive a questionnaire about your newborn session which will give me all the details I need to prepare for your newborn session. You do not need to bring anything to the session however if you have anything special you'd like to bring, please note this on the questionnaire or pop me a message to discuss. If your baby takes a dummy, please do bring one as this can aid the session nicely when settling a baby. White noise will be played in the background during the session to comfort and calm your newborn baby.

After your newborn session
Once your session has finished, you will be offered a preview from your session within 48 hours on my Facebook / Instagram. This isn't compulsory as I respect those who wish not to share their images on social media (consent forms are given). You will within 3-4 weeks receive a link either via messenger or email with your online viewing gallery. This is where you can pick and choose what images you'd like with your package. I then will perfect those images and add them back to the gallery where you can download them whilst waiting for print orders. Once print orders are delivered to me, I will then gather your products together and organise collection of these. Prints and products are usually ordered on a Friday approx 1pm and take around 1 week to come back to me. Larger products, like wall art and albums can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks.

I encourage parents and brothers or sisters to join in and create beautiful family memories together. We had a Maternity shoot and Newborn shoot with Samantha. She worked with us both times to create the poses and style we envisioned. The pictures were with us really quickly and we were over the moon with them both times.
