However, I can advise from personal experience to get the squishy tiny newborn portraits that the best age is between 5 and 14 days although this doesn't mean you won't get the curled up squishy photographs after the 14 days, you absolutely can.... with a bit of patience. ALL babies are different and I have had babies who have been 7 days old be really unsettled, or hate being curled up and on the other hand I have had babies be around 6-8 weeks old, slept like a dream and curled right up!  Well Christmas holidays was over in a flash, but I am glad to be back working and doing what I love. The first gallery of 2022 was completed last week and sent over to my client, from a lovely little newborn session. This family have visited me numerous of times before so it was a pleasure to be able to capture their newest addition to the family.  This gallery is just really fresh and clean looking, I can certainly see myself creating some gorgeous wall art for my studio with some of the images from this newborn photography session. I am based on Kingswood, Hull however I do have clients who do travel to me from out of town also. On Friday 16th April little Freddie visited the studio for his 1st birthday cake smash and splash photo-shoot! Prior to the shoot, Freddie's Mum had mentioned in the pre cake smash questionnaire that Freddie was a little shy... I think you will see from the photographs you are about to see that Freddie... was not shy. Freddie had LOTS OF FUN!  Pre cake smash session  Also known as a mini session. Parents are welcome to join in the mini session when purchasing the top package at no extra cost.  I always start my birthday sessions with a mini portrait shoot, which also include a few props for little one to play about with and on. Usually, for a shy child, the little moon stool works great for the curious mind... The mini photo-shoot can include siblings and parents at an additional cost, however there is no extra charge with the top birthday package for this. These mini sessions last about 10-15 minutes, a great way for me to quickly learn how your baby reacts to me, and for me to get to know them quickly!  Ohhh what is this?! Freddie didn't eat much of his cake, and that's ok, because this cake is for playing with and that's exactly what Freddie did! It's all about capturing their experience with something that is meant to be their first experience of something sweet and sugary.  First taste... It's that cold time of the year now, and what perfect setting for a birthday cake smash, is a winter themed cake smash and splash. Hull isn't great for weather, and we don't really get much snow, but for one day only, we had some snow (not real of course) for our winter themed cake smash, for two little twins! How exciting! Twins in the studio! It was definitely a good call asking my assistant Codie to come and lend a helping hand. I haven't really had chance to blog much recently as we are so busy in the studio but currently, my little man Tommy is sleeping so I have a spare half hour to show you our wonderful winter wonderland themed cake smash with two little twins.   This beautiful backdrop is supplied by PropsforTogs and WE LOVE IT! Cake Smash Photography, Hull - Samantha Jade Photography I love it when a client comes to me and asks for portraits on location, it's always good to get away from the studio and work with something different. We love being outdoors, so outdoor and working is a win, win. We first met this lovely family approximately 4 years ago, when again, we did some family portraits on location. At the time, it was a family of four, and now there's a family of five. Obviously the girls was a lot younger back then, so looking back on the families location photo-shoot at the weekend, it was lovely to see how much the girls had changed, and also to see how big my work was printed. So this weekend we updated this families portraits with their new little addition and we love the results from their photography session.     Please don't hate We just have to be prepared, HO, HO, HO. Every single year, here at Samantha Jade Photography, we are so full during the Christmas season, with Christmas minis, cake smashes, sometimes weddings, the list goes on. This year, we have a busy winter wedding season, which we are so happy about. This does, however mean we have to be organised with the planning of our Christmas Mini Photography Sessions.  Therefore, we have put together 4 dates, across two weekends which will be booked just for Christmas Mini Portrait Photography Sessions. These photography sessions are approx. 30 minutes long and will include two backdrop set ups. These sessions are mainly aimed at Children, however we don't mind smaller families jumping in on the set. We recommend families up to 5 people during each session.  As you know, we don't do much ' bright ' colours, as it's just not our style. We like to keep our images, clean, warm, and fresh looking. We will be changing and adjusting our Christmas set up this year, as we don't like to do the same each year. We can ensure you, that it will be within our style of photography, but BETTER THIS YEAR as we are now in our very own STUDIO!  Since our new studio opened up this year in June, we will be able to smoothly transition between backdrops during your photography session. We can't wait to show you our ideas for these set ups, and we can't wait to photograph our Christmas Minis in our studio this year for the very first time!  WHATS THE COST? Our Christmas Mini Photography Portrait Sessions are £50 These mini portrait sessions include 8 digital images with print release, and you can download these from your private online viewing gallery straight away, once your images are ready. It's that simple, and if you require any prints, you can do so buy ordering straight from us, via our website. How easy, and simple is that?! These sessions are 30 minutes long, include two backdrop set ups, for families up to 5 people.
