It was a cold, miserable, rainy and windy day in the middle of March at Rowley Manor. The service for a special little boy made the gloomy day, not so gloomy! A gorgeous blessing for a handsome little man at the lovely Rowley Manor. The venue filled with family and friends who came to celebrate the little mans blessing at the Church a little bit down the road.
It was such a lovely services, and the church was filled up front to back with everyone who cared about this little man and his family.
I arrived around lunch time, to record the blessing, to capture those candid moments, and to get those family portraits. I covered the blessing for around 4 hours, and it was such a lovely afternoon spent. Everyone at the venue was so nice, and the entertainment was so good for the little ones!
I'm not going to post anymore images from the blessing, but I just wanted to share a little bit about it and a few photographs from Rowley Manor.
Is anyone having a blessing held here, or a wedding? If you are, we'd love to chat.
Hello, and welcome back! We haven't posted on our blog in a while but we have made it our new years resolution to show you all what we have been up to each month, instead of bomb barding you all with a blog every week after every photography session in our studio or wedding. So here is to 2019s monthly blog! We'd love you all to join us this year on viewing our blog and seeing what we have been up to in the studio, and your welcome to drop by and comment on each blog, even if you just say hi, so that we know we haven't bored you to sleep. ha!
Throwback to Oct, Nov, Dec '18, what can we say? It was SOOO busy in our studio and we sold out our Christmas minis 3x over! We also kept seeing out of our santa in the skys so we'd just like to thank each and everyone one of you who booked in, and even shared / tagged your friends in our posts. It was just amazing and the best year yet in the studio.
We also received a little email, with some delightful news, that Samantha Jade Photography, along with two other male photographers, Steve Elliot and Darryl Brooks are now recognized as the top three photographers in Hull, by the three best rated 2019. Just wow. It's a first time for Samantha so well done boys on being in the top three also! We are super chuffed!!
We returned back to work on the 1st January and in the studio we did a cake smash, a little winter theme again which we love so we was glad when this was requested. We can not share these images but here's a photograph of the cake smash cake! It was the full session of the mini portrait session, cake smash and splash session, and our lovely clients had travelled to our studio in Hull on Kingswood from right over the Humber Bridge for an early cake smash session. The photos are wonderful and without hesitation, the client bought them all <3
Our second photography shoot in our studio was a lovely little Cake smash, and we love this set up and we loved every minute of the photography session. The photographs are just beautiful. This little one had a very busy day as when she visited our studio for a very early session (8am!! Yes we can do this, but we don't usually open this early) she had to travel almost an hour to get back home to have her birthday and a christening! I bet she was tired, don't you :) ?
Our second photography session in the studio but our first newborn session our 2019 was a little girl! A little Christmas baby! Naww, so tiny, and such a dream during her newborn photography session. All the way from near Bath, I think that is the furthest client I have ever had? Although the family are originally from Hull ;)
We loved this set up, we don't usually do unicorns but we think we did a pretty good job at making this set look amazing and so cute for this little girl who loved her session with us in the studio. This cake smash was such a pleasure and it was so nice to have the family back in the studio for the 3rd time.
It seems as though we have a run of little ladies, as our second newborn photography session in the studio was, you guessed it, another little girl. What a way to start 2019. Another little gem who was excellent throughout her newborn photography session here at samantha jade photography. Along came her little sister also for some sibling portraits. You know we don't charge any extra during our newborn sessions to have some family photos?
OUR FIRST LITTLE BOY OF 2019! A CAKE SMASH AND SPLASH IN THE STUDIO!
What a delight this little man was, who came to our studio to celebrate his first birthday cake smash and splash session with us at Samantha Jade Photography. As requested by Mum, who I think was torn between two themes, we offered to do TWO THEMES! We will go out our way to please our clients.
And last, but not least, we ended the month with a SPLASH only session. Yes that's right, we can just do a splash session and if you require anymore information on this, just message us at email@example.com.
We ended the month with a boy! We are just mesmerised by his eyes! He was a little gem during his splash session and we did have lots of fun too!
Now January has been and gone, we have a great offer on for the next 5 bride and grooms, grooms and grooms, brides and brides getting married between now and 2020 to receive a FREE complimentary 10"x10" 10 page spread wedding album worth £300! Only available on ' The Rose Gold ' Package. Samanthajadephoto@hotmail.com for more information.
It's that cold time of the year now, and what perfect setting for a birthday cake smash, is a winter themed cake smash and splash. Hull isn't great for weather, and we don't really get much snow, but for one day only, we had some snow (not real of course) for our winter themed cake smash, for two little twins!
How exciting! Twins in the studio! It was definitely a good call asking my assistant Codie to come and lend a helping hand. I haven't really had chance to blog much recently as we are so busy in the studio but currently, my little man Tommy is sleeping so I have a spare half hour to show you our wonderful winter wonderland themed cake smash with two little twins.
This beautiful backdrop is supplied by PropsforTogs and WE LOVE IT!
With all our cake smash and splash photography packages, we always do a mini portrait session before things get messy.
and then we finish off in a lovely white roll top bath, how very posh ;)

We had Theodores cake smash and splash with Samantha jade a few weeks ago. I can’t thank you enough for such a lovely afternoon with our baby. The photos are fantastic. You was very professional and very welcoming and patient with Theo. He had a great time and memories we can treasure in these beautiful photos. I would highly recommend you to anyone thinking of having their baby’s 1st birthday with a cake smash and splash. Such a lovely and fun thing to do with your baby. Cant wait to get my pictures on the wall. Xx
September came round pretty quick which meant for me, back to routine. I came into September with lots of editing to do after a pretty awesome month of capturing weddings with my second shooter Codie. Our wedding season this year started in May, but I have still yet to blog about all these fantastic weddings this year, but in all honesty, I just don't have the time to the moment. It's so crazy here at Samantha Jade Photography, and in the studio I have been super busy this month, I just want to say a big thank you to all my lovely clients for booking me to capture your weddings, celebrations and so on.
Every month I always have intentions on blogging a summery of the month just gone but I'm always wanting to make sure my clients images are back well before deadline dates. I have a little check list I run down every week with an order of galleries to complete, things that I need to order like prints or props, and work from that. I should maybe add on ' blog ', or I could possibly ask Codie...
So I just wanted to start by sharing this gorgeous image of Gary and Martin, who married 8th September at Skidby Millhouse. Despite the awful weather and the torrential down pour, it was such a lovely intimate ceremony, and we was also brave enough to go outside and get soaked for some photos, not something we'd normally do but we was all prepared with our umbrellas, needless to say we travelled home with the heating on full and the heated seats!! These two are such lovely gentlemen and we are honoured to be booked to capture their wedding. I am also handing over their images this weekend which will be a nice feeling for us.
The first newborn of the month to enter the studio was this little Mr, at 4 days old he was so dinky and so cute. Just look at that expression on his little face. His Daddy has booked just 2 days before the shoot and I managed to fit him in during the week on an evening. We haven't yet done an evening session in the studio but it was lovely. I know I have previewed the awake shots but we did get him to sleep for the rest of the session in the studio. I just want to thank Dad and Mum for booking with me and hope to see you again for a cake smash.
1st Cake Smash of September and this little guy totally rocked it. He was so good bless him and we got some lovely photographs to celebrate that turning ONE milestone. Our popular backdrop is a big hit at the moment so if you, or your little one loves this little bunny, why not book in for a cake smash with us.
In the same week as all of the above, we also met a gorgeous little girly who was only 2 weeks old, who came for a newborn session, again in the evening. I can't show you any previews but I can tell you that the session went well, and was all very pink and girly. This little girly was visiting family over here in Hull, it's always good to have clients from out of town. Thank you again for booking me.
Also this month, I was the second photographer for a change and popped along to Cave Castle for a wedding with Andrea from Hello Photography and I got to capture the wedding from other angles which I loved. Andrea is lovely and it's always great to work with other local photographers to help one another out.
I love this backdrop, and I just want to thank Kerrie from Props for Togs, on her super quick turn around of this gorgeous drop. I love girly cake smashes and this was all based on a well known character, a bit similar to the boy version above ;) Rabbits and ducks, hehe.. This little cutie was so good during her cakes smash session in the studio with Samantha Jade Photography, we are looking forward to seeing you again at your Christmas mini.
Wheels, wheels and wheels. This little Mr LOVED wheels, so of course the vintage car had to come out on our BOY themed cake smash! Planes and cars. Whats not to love eh? This little Mr was so good in the studio during his cake smash and splash session, and also covered Daddy in cake! Good boy :)
Yummy cake! This is how the cake smash went, he absolutely loved the cake smash, either being in the studio, or just because cake is that good. His mummy had won a half price cake smash session and wanted a boyish, blue theme, so clouds and planes it was for this little man, and the photos are just adorable. Thanks for visiting the studio, we hope to see you again.
and to end my update so far, although we still have this weekend to go, these two also visited the studio this month and I just wanna name these photos ' pretty in pink '. I am really loving the pinks at the moment.
For GDPR reasons, I have to respect clients wishes, therefore I can't add some photographs from some sessions but all the sessions I have had this month have been fab and I hope to see you again.

Jessica had previously had a family photo shoot with me back when I used to work in the dining room. It was great to hear from Jess again after the birth of her new baby, who may I add, is super tiny!!!
Here's a few previews from todays session
Summer is my favourite time of the year, I'm not one for wind and rain, yes snow looks pretty but once you've done numerous of school runs in it, and you come in all wet and soggy, freezing, naa, it's not for me, give me sunshine any day of the year. Speaking of the weather? How lovely has the weather been in Hull recently? I never catch the sun, but this year I look sun kissed. I took the opportunity of this lovely weather to offer some lovely little beach minis, which was done on Hornsea Seafront, so not a long drive from Hull. The beach minis took around 30-60 minutes, and I just spent time with families / couples, walking along the sea front, chatting, playing, giggling. It was lovely. The whole vibe was really relaxed which helped capturing some gorgeous images.
I won't go on anymore, but I do offer location photography sessions in and around Hull, if anyone would like a natural, relaxed, family or couple portrait shoot, get in touch...
