A Little Bit About Me

Hey, I’m Samantha Jade, but most people just call me Sammy. I’m a newborn, baby, and family photographer based in Hull, East Yorkshire, and I’ve been lucky enough to turn my passion into my full-time job.
My love for photography really grew after becoming a mum back in 2012. Holding my own baby for the first time made me realise just how quickly those tiny moments pass — the squishy newborn cuddles, the first smiles, the little milestones that seem to come and go in a blink. That’s what inspired me to start capturing them for other families too. My cosy home studio in Kingswood is where I create most of my magic.. I photograph everything from maternity sessions and newborns, to sitters, cake smashes, family portraits, and even weddings and outdoor location shoots. Every session is laid-back and personal — no rush, no pressure, just real moments and happy memories. I’m often told that I have the patience of a saint (which definitely helps when working with babies — and sometimes pets too!) or a baby whisperer. I like to make sure every family that walks through my door feels completely comfortable, because that’s when the most natural, beautiful moments happen. When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me out in the caravan with my husband Adam, our boys, and our two dogs — probably somewhere by the water with a paddleboard nearby. I feel so lucky to do what I do — meeting wonderful families and capturing their stories in photographs they’ll treasure forever.
